Pilley was born in Memphis, Tennessee where her family has lived for 3 generations. Her father a preacher, her mother a nurse. She began playing piano at age 5. They later moved to South Carolina where she began winning piano competitions at age 12, and had her debut with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra as a solo artist at 16. She graduated with a degree in piano performance from The EASTMAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC, with studies in jazz composition. While there she performed in master class with Jean Pierre Rempal, Itzah Perlman and Leon Fleisher. She attended the Aspen Music Festival and had private studies with Lee Luvisi and John Perry. She was also accompanist for the Reina Sofia International Competition in Madrid Spain with world reknown flutist Kent Jordan & CBS recording artist as well as master flutist Sanae Nakayama Sony Classics/Japan.She received a Master of Music in Studio Writing and Production from The University of Miami and studied privately with Ivan Davis, performing extensively and featured in his artist series on Beethoven & Schumann. It was also there that she won first prize in the prestigious Mozart Competition.Pilley then moved to NYC and continued her private piano studies with Lillian Kallir. She immediately started working as a pianist in theater, touring nationally, but became unsatisfied with this direction and began hanging around the music building and scraping together work as a keyboardist for hire. She quickly gained recognition as a pop/rock musician and appeared in video and television programs on MTV, BET, PBS, HBO & the Lifetime Network. She was the featured keyboardist/talent for MTVs ace award winning show TURN IT UP!, and SPOTLIGHT CAFE with Denis Leary, for which she co-wrote both theme songs as well as composing her award winning classical string quartet composition "Snowpony" which was released on D'Note Records by the group "Cello" on their self-titled debut CD.She began singing and playing her own music with her original band ilas Dress, who's debut CD IGNORANCE AND BAD MANNERS, was received with critical acclaim, charting on CMJ and landing her a recording contract with Allen Kovaks label, BEYOND (BMG), and a co-publishing contract with TRIO PUBLISHING (Nashville). Her music is currently featured in several soundtracks. She is an ASCAP award winning songwriter and featured artist in the organizations showcase series at the Sundance Film Festivel, where she has shared the stage with Jen Chapin and India Arie. She was the music director for 7 years of the long running NYC hit TONY & TINAS WEDDING and is currently head of A&R for Mamapalooza Records for which she is also a featured artist. She is also VP/Owner of Mamapublooza Publishing and is a judge for the 4th year running in the 2011 Independent Music Awards. She currently has her own company that provides urbanly romantic chamber music for private events BIANCHI MUSICA that combines her love of music and fashion. She and her quartet have performed events for Tiffany & Co., Martha Stewart and Jann Wenner (Rollingstone Magazine) She has performed for audiences that included Bruce Jenner, Sandra Day O'Conner, John Waters, Bett Midler, Richard Gere, The Royal Family of Monaco, Glenn Close, Susan Lucci etc, and shared the stage with Michael Bolton, Josh Groban, Renee Fleming, Cyndi lauper, Whoopi Goldberg & Jo Dee Messina.

Ila's dress was my pop/rock band in the late 90's named in honor of my ever so southern grandmother Ila. She owned a dress shop called Meriam's in Memphis TN and never wore pants a day in her life. She also advised me at a very early age to "never raise my dress to no little boys." "Oh no ma'am," I would say wondering what she meant. This band rocked the house and landed us a record deal that brightly burst into flames; what a ride. We had a huge following in NYC and charted regularly on CMJ that initially attracted a German label that we licensed our music to. As well We signed a single deal with our alt/disco song, "i like to think of you dead" which became a cult classic on college radio. We reached a point when every show we played was attended by a "who's who" in the record industry. We were invited to perform for ASCAP's festival at the Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews as well as Songwriter's Hall of Fame, sharing the stage with India Arie and Spottiswoode and his Enemies. We recorded 2 CD's at the iconic Coyote Studio's in Brooklyn run, owned and operated by Mike Caiati and his brother Albert. Legends in the root rock industry. As a songwriter, Pilley is an award winning writer and has written hundreds of songs. She writes and produces for her own project as well as other artists ranging from Pop/rock to country to neo-classical. Her versatility eventually landed her a publishing contract in Nashville. The song currently playing on the home page was written for Keith Urban. You can hear more songs on the music page. She continues to scout and produce new talent such as 13 year old trumpet player Liam Hendrix Heath from London that she co-produced with John Patitucci & Jay Bianchi as well as 17 year old singer/songwriter Valerie Webb. Founder of Bianchi Musica, Pilley currently produces live music for private events featuring piano & her string quartet La Sorelle featuring violinists Ariana Rosen & Kate Mollica, Violist Hannah Hens-Piazza and cellist Lauren Riley-Rigby. She composes and arranges popular music with an urbanly romantic twist to bring a new flavor to chamber music. Her clients include Tiffany & Co., Martha Stewart, the Tisch family & Jann Wenner of Rollingstone Magazine.

My new CD "kyrie" was released 12.01.11 on itunes. It is the organic result of the search to redefine my musical self after the demise of my last record deal. It was a bloody battle and I needed some time off. Then, through a willy-nilly way, I wound up in the event industy. (Too long a story to share)Such was the birth of "Bianchi Musica". Combining my classical roots with my love of popular music & fashion. For the past 2 years, I have been gifted with performing private events with my gorgeous & talented string quartet; Ariana Rosen, Kate Mollica, Hannah Hens-Piazza and Lauren Riley-Rigby. As a constantly working chamber ensemble, we have learned to aniticipate each other's musical moves and breath together. It's been an extraordinary experience. Kyrie is a hybrid of classical music, pop & southern rock. There are 11 pieces, 7 covers and 4 originals. The title track kyrie is an original composition and the Greek word for "lord". It appears in countless sacred works ranging from Bach, Beethoven & Mozart, all the way to contemporary composers. We have been fortunate to play in some of the largest and most renown cathedrals, churches and synagogues in the world, being inspired by all things heavenly and ethereal. The repertoire on KYRIE has grown organically out of unusual requests from our clients, many of whom have granted us creative license to push the envelope for chamber music in private settings. We have developed a signature sound which is a romantic mixture of fairydust & drama. Additional players are the uber talented & handsome Tony Lauria on accordion and the beautifully gifted Christiana Liberis on violin. My husband & partner in crime Jay Bianchi produced & co-arranged this work.
